Percy Neville Barnett (1881 – 1953) was an author, collector and book-plate authority. He played a central role in promoting and cultivating Australian interest in book-plates, especially in the 1920s and 30s. His numerous books have become collectible items, with many of the plates having been hand coloured and/or tipped-in by Bartlett himself. Woodcut Book-Plates, his fourth book, is beautifully produced and features the work of a number of Australian artists as well as contemporary Japanese, German, British and Central European artists.
