London : Constable & Co., 1927. Folio, gilt-lettered blue buckram , top edge gilt, 45 leaves of plates with accompanying title leaf, each a fine photogravure reproduction of a Norman Lindsay etching. Limited to 129 copies of which 120 were for sale, signed and numbered by Norman Lindsay. Released at the same time was a deluxe edition limited to 31 copies.
Condition: Spine is sunned and some insect damage to cover. Foxing throughought is especially prominent on first three plates and the last one.
The Etchings of Norman Linsday is one of his most sumptuous and scarce publications. The book sold out prior to publication and only a handful of copies made it to Australia. Australian customs held the two copies sent to Gill’s Fine Art Society on the grounds it was an immoral publication.
