Sydney: Angus and Robertson, 1935. First edition. Quarto. 24cm x 17.5cm. 92pp, frontis plus four tipped-in colour plates and b&w  illustrations throughout. Papered boards. (Muir, 1970, p.646).

Good. Spine has been re-papered with not title. Two small tape marks to foot of from board near the spine.  Light foxing to prelims and scattered throughout.

Whimsical depression era story about a little koala bear who has saved sixpence to buy his mama a birthday present. Despite his best intentions he succumbs to the temptation to spend the money on himself, but good fortune shines and a truly wonderful gift is found. Ida Rentoul  Outhwaite (1888- 1960) was a popular illustrator influenced by the art nouveau movement.
