Colonel W.F.B. Laurie

Imperial England, India, literature

London: W. H. Allen & Co, 1887. A new edition, revised and enlarged. Approx 12.5cm x 18cm, pp. xx + 420 + 4 (Advertisements), photographic portrait frontis. Black boards and endpapers with elaborate gilt blocking and titles to front cover and spine.

Very Good. Boards worn, but gilt is bright. Head of spine pushed, corners lightly bumped, joints starting. Foxing to the half title and blanks, otherwise clean. Most pages unopened. $45.

An interesting little book, giving outlines of the lives of some of the less-known of those who helped to win or keep Britain’s Indian Empire. Appears to have never been read.
