The Aldine History of Queensland was published in 1888 to mark the Centennial. It was intended to be artistic, and every mechanical aspect of its production – from type-set to artwork – was Australian.  It covers history, exploration, recreation, politics and volume two has a large Appendix with biographies of notable personages grouped by towns.
