Dear Friends and Colleagues,
The peak Australian book-collecting event of the year is upon us once more. We are happy to be attending The Melbourne Rare Book Fair for a third consecutive year (our second as stall-holders) and have curated a collectable miscellany that we hope will intrigue and delight.
Here we offer you a sneak preview of the items that will be on display at our stall. The colour brochure features 17 highlights including Mathematics, Memento Mori, Militaria, The Middle East, and a 1928 photo album of a Grand Tour undertaken by four friends in a car called Marco Polo (item 14). For those who collect Olympic Games programs we have Count Mercati’s copy of the Official Program of the 1912 Stockholm Olympics (item 15), and for collectors of social and women’s history we have Mrs Mary Wilson’s personal album from the mid 19th Century (item 9). We’ve also attached a text-only list of a further 37 items including Antiquarian, Australiana, Crime Noir, Equine, Literature and Poetry, Photography, Voyages and more. Please let us know if you would like us to reserve anything for you.
If you are in Melbourne for the Fair dates (July 7-9) please drop in and say hello to us at Stall 23, Wilson Hall, University of Melbourne, where we will of course have even more (uncatalogued) books and ephemera for browsing and collecting pleasure. You can check out some more of our highlights (and also of other stall holders) at the MRBF website Highlights page.
We look forward to hearing from you or seeing you there.
Dawn & Hamish.
